Detailed Information
The wooden POLES manufactured on Ryazan treating plant and they have a number of significant advantages:
– have a much lower cost in comparison with reinforced concrete and metal POLES
– much more long living in exploitation (its warranty period is 10 years and the average life is 40-50 years)
– more comfortable and efficient during transportation and installation
– are protected against abrasion wear
– there is no domino effect, when one pylon (reinforced concrete) falls and it drags by gravity all close standing POLES on large length of power line
– have a significantly high level of electrical insulation, which provides a significant energy savings when transferring it to a greater distance
– without need for high maintenance to weather conditions, hardly susceptible to damage when changing cycles of “freeze -defrost-freeze”, resistant to strong winds
– allow joint suspension of lines of 0,4-10 kV and street lighting
Thus, the use of wooden POLES steeped in some antiseptic meets the objectives of enhancing the durability and reliability of operation of electric and power lines, while substantially reducing the cost of construction and maintenance.
All these facts were took into consideration by RAO Unified Energy System of the Russian Federation, which in its circular under No. 11-02/1-05 dated 03.10.2001 as well as by the order under No. 218 “On the results of meeting of Science and Engineering Board of RAO Unified Energy System of the Russian Federation” dated 18.04.2002 in order to improve the reliability of electricity distribution networks recommended the massive use of the new generation of wooden POLES for the technical re-equipment and reconstruction of the new construction.
POLES MANUFACTURING PROCESS
The pine tree is the best raw material for manufacturing of wooden POLES. The tree is perfect for its geometrical parameters and at the same time it can be impregnated well, which helps to protect it from decay and other destructive factors.
All crude products for wooden POLES are subjected to incoming inspection in accordance with GOST 9463-88. Each pylon is tested for compliance with specifications, and only high-quality raw material goes into production.
All selected crude products for wooden POLES go through mechanized conversion of the surface on a bark peeler. This peeler disbarks and decorticates as it is necessary to provide a certain soaking depth according to GOST 20022.0-93.
At the same time the bark peeler lefts “natural” geometry of a wood and thus preserves the original resistance to wind and mechanical loads.
Raw parts for wooden poles (POLES) without bark come to the warehouse for maturing of wood. Into production goes just wood with a moisture content of not more than 22% for impregnation with oil-borne preservative and no more than 28% for the impregnation with water-born antiseptics of group CCA. It is possible to store in the warehouse up to 25-30 thousands of raw parts.
Antiseptic solution of CCA group is prepared from concentrate with the help of industrial mixer. Copper, chromium and arsenic are the part of this solution. The solution proofs the wood from various types of destructive fungi and organisms.
At the request of a customer the Russian analog for CCA can be used. It is a solution XM, which is more ecological. Concentration of the solution is controlled before each impregnation.
On the plant POLES are also impregnated by creosote (coal-tar oil) that is the classic version of impregnation.
Dried raw parts of POLES are loaded into autoclave for impregnation with waterborne preservative in accordance with GOST 20022.6-93 by means of “vacuum-pressure-vacuum” under pressure of 12 atmospheres or impregnation with coal – tar oil in accordance with GOST 20022.5-93 by means of “pressure-pressure-vacuum” under pressure of 8atmospheres and under temperature about 105 C.
This technology allows providing the depth of wood impregnation not less than 85% on laburnum part of wood. After solution of waterborne preservative of CCA group, antiseptic is fixed in the wood structure with direct steam during 30-40 minutes directly in autoclave.
In the course of this procedure, antiseptic components are built into the wood structure and then transformed into insoluble forms.
After impregnation with waterborne preservative the wooden POLES, unloaded from autoclave are kept under cover which protects them from atmospheric precipitation for 10 days. During this period antiseptic finally fixed in the wood cells. POLES that are impregnated with coal-tar oil can be delivered to a consumer after impregnation.
